I realize now that I have been quite negligent in posting information regarding my dramatic comedy of a life but I hope to make up for that in some small way with this lovely note. So, my life.
In May, I had my finals and they all went relatively well. I finished up the semester and stayed off all probations (yay!). Unfortunately, my GPA wasn't as high as I wanted it to be so I have a study schedule to follow for the fall. I sat CQ during graduation and left two days later on leave.
For the month of June, I was at home primarily. I spent a fantastic time going to Rita's, the mall and basically, all around, being awesome haha... Towards the end of the month (24th?), I returned to USAFA and entered the Soaring program where I flew TG-10 Blaniks for 14 flights and had a blast.
In July, I began Global Engagement where I went through a mock deployment. I had a fantastic time and took pictures posted on facebook. I also participated in Combat Survival Training (or the Cadet Starvation Training). I'm not sure how much weight I lost but I do know that a week later, fully clothed, I still weighed less than I did before I started and undressed hahaha! I had a decent time. The ruck was not unmanageably heavy but it was annoying at times. The evasion part was better because we only had one point to go to instead of five or six. It was interesting to say the least but I do not wish to repeat it hahahaha.
Now that August has started, I have a few briefings today, yesterday and tomorrow. School starts on Thursday as does debate practice. I have my debate schedule for the next year and...there goes my social life. I'm travelling almost every weekend to all across the country (which is marvelous) and I can almost see my GPA slipping unless I keep my butt in gear. There will be no slacking off this semester. I refuse to suffer a low GPA again. My goal is Dean's List and that requires a 3.0.
That's pretty much an update. I'm in my new squadron: CS-06. It's pretty awesome. Life continues to go on and that's my life...
More later.
