Life

I'm leaving for CAP Legislative Day in DC today. It'll be rock awesome. Although I just found out my Blues shoes have a huge chunk of sole missing...lol. The side has this huge hole in it, lol. Ah well, nothing I can do about it... :)

Still competing for an NSA scholarship. Although I think I'd still go to USAFA, not UD. I wonder if I could use an NSA scholarship at USAFA? lol

I watched "Spectacular!" the other day. It's a Nickoledeon version of HSM or Camp Rock or something. BUT! It was great. I liked it way more than HSM or CR. WAY More. I might even buy the soundtrack; it was that good.

Today

So, today was Senator Carper's Academy Night. It's this huge event he runs every year to provide students with a chance to get information on different academies and on applying for nominations. One of the reasons he runs it is because he didn't find out about service academies until too late and ended up doing ROTC instead (not that that's a bad thing).

Well, this year, he asked me if I'd be willing to speak at the Academy Night on applying/getting nominations/appointments, etc. Needless to say, I was thrilled and excited beyond belief.

I wrote my speech last night.

I presented my speech today.

WAS.
INCREDIBLE.

I have no words to describe it. I loved giving my speech - I had a ton of fun! And, Senator Carper was incredibly nice and very friendly (per his norm).

Then, I answered people's questions about applying and on nominations. It was very, very cool. I shall never forget it.

There was this really nice guy too. And my older sister. And my whole family.

And Senator Carper recognized them all and asked them to stand up during the speech. And he had us take a photo with him. And there were reporters/photographers there.

I had so much fun.

Sigh

I'm addicted to ProjectPlaylist. :D I have my lovely little playlists and I listen to them aaaallll the time. Currently, my favorite songs are: "Killer Queen" by Queen, "Eternal Flame" by The Bangles and "Cruel to Be Kind" by Letters to Cleo (from "10 Things I Hate About You").

I did almost nothing yesterday - except watch "10 Things I Hate About You" which I bought off iTunes cause it was only $4.99 instead of $9.99 or something ridiculous. :)

Anyway, life continues for me. Drill Team is getting uber busy but fun! And I'm hanging out.

I am so ridonkulously excited! I now know three people who have been accepted to USAFA Class of 2013 - including two Dark Knights!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!! I was like screaming with excitement last night. It was as if I had been readmitted, lol.

That's all. I just wanted to let my excitement go.... :D :D :D :D :D

Decisions

I finally made up my mind. The final straw was when I realized that I was only applying/considering the US Naval Academy because I felt like it was the right thing to do and what everyone wanted me to do. I was going to put up with 9+ years in the Navy for the sake of my family and friends. But I thought about it and realized that anytime USNA got hard, I'd always be like "why am I not at USAFA?" And so...I decided.

USAFA.

That's where I'm going to college.
